1. Drink a glass of warm or hot water first thing in the morning. This will help to wake your digestive system and prime it
2. Deliberate eating. Eating is a way to nourish. When you are eating try to avoid also talking on the phone, working on the computer, driving, and most importantly, don’t rush.
3. Avoid cold refrigerated food and ice cold drinks- because it can inhibit the contraction of the large intestine making it harder for digestion.
4. Try to eat light. When you over eat , it compromises the Spleen's ability to function.. The art is to stop just before becoming full. If we can do this we will find that we have much more energy levels.
5. Focused abdominal breathing. When a person is connected to their center, not only do they have better digestion and vitality, but they are also more stable emotionally. A great way to practice this is : to exhale , and make sure to completely release all of the air in your lungs. When you exhale, there is usually still air remaining in the lungs. At the bottom of your exhalation, try to push more air out.. then even more…. Then inhale and feel yourself breathing in from your lower abdomen and filling your body up from that point out. Do this for a few minutes every day.
